Did you know? Microscopic mold spores naturally occur almost everywhere, both outdoors and indoors; you don’t see them, but they are there. This makes it impossible to remove all mold from a home or business. Mold spores thrive on moisture and can quickly colonize materials such as drywall, wood, or other porous materials. Many clients notice mold growth in hard to reach or rarely seen areas, some also notice growth after being away from their property for a period, when environmental conditions were not properly monitored.

Mold itself can produce allergens and irritants and should avoid being handled without the proper protection. Some believe that mold can be simply wiped away with bleach or painted over; these are all common misunderstandings.

At SERVPRO, mold remediation is one of our trusted techniques to help reduce the mold spore count in a building back to its natural level. Some restoration businesses advertise “mold removal” and even guarantee to remove all mold which unfortunately, is not realistic. Here at SERVPRO of B&WS/W we use special machines to create a “faux” environment & remove & treat any visible growth so that it cannot continue to grow.

Before we begin this process, it is important to address the source of the water or moisture that contributed to the growth, this would include repairs done by a plumber to a pipe leak, or a roofer to roof damage. Without this step any damage that had been addressed could relapse.

After all work Is done; the property owner takes on the responsibility of limiting humidity and any elevated temperatures to keep the environment consistent, so that the condition does not relapse. Attempt to keep the relative humidity under 60 percent, between 30 and 50 is ideal, and increase the air temperature when possible. Act swiftly when water leaks or spills occur to avoid damage or mold growth. Increase ventilation and air movement when needed. Prompt action can help prevent sizable damage or any damage in general.

When you call SERVPRO of Buckeye & West Surprise/ Wickenburg we are here to answer your questions, and when you are ready to take that next step towards your remediation needs, our customer focused staff will be standing with you to guide you through the process. Additionally, you can trust we will get your property into pre loss condition from start to finish including your reconstruction needs.
